Connor Thomas ~ 6/27/2010

On June 27th, 2010 at 7:15 a.m., we welcomed Connor Thomas into our world. He weighed 8 pounds 2.4 ounces & was 18 3/4 inches long. Life since then has been quite the roller coaster (a good roller coaster)!

Labor and delivery was amazing! Both Ryan and I agree that it was the best thing we have ever experienced! I went into labor at 6 a.m. on our due date (6/26/2010), spent the day at home in early labor, was admitted to the hospital around 1 a.m. on 6/27/2010, and Mr. Connor arrived about 6 hours later as the sun came up!  Ryan says it's one of the best memories of his life, watching the sun come up to start a new day as his son was being born.

The first weeks of Connor's life were exhausting; there's no doubt about that!! Because he lost too much weight in the first few days, we were put on a strict feeding schedule (eating every 2 hours), but once we got him back to his birth weight, we were able to relax a bit more and let him tell us when he wants to eat. Since then, he's been growing strong! The last time he was weighed (a week ago), he was 10 pounds 5 ounces, and I'm sure he weighs even more than that now!

Just in the past week or so, Connor has been doing much better with his nighttime routine! We had one night where he slept the entire night! Since then he has had a few good nights and a few bad nights, but for the most part he is only getting up once per night. I'm sure it'll only get better from here! He has also just started cooing and smiling at us & he is developing quite the little personality!!

Our newest adventure is going to be testing out cloth diapers!! After a lot of research and positive feed back from a friend, we decided to give cloth diapering a shot. We just ordered 3 to try out. I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes!! I am really excited about it because not only will it save us lots of money (especially since we are planning to have more babies) but it is also better for Connor AND the envirnoment! Wish us luck!
